The splendid waterfalls of the Dragon Gorges

The Dragon gorges are about half an hour from the town of Corleone and about 20 minutes from the Ficuzza Wood. If you are in this area and you are passionate about nature and adventure, it is a must.

Of an extraordinary beauty, the Dragon Gorges are part of a little considered Sicily, the Sicily of lakes and rivers, rich in mountain flora and fauna.

My boyfriend, Giuseppe, my companion in adventures, and I have always heard about it, but we had never tried to go there. So one day we decided to visit the Real Casina di Caccia of Ficuzza and we were explained by an inhabitant of the place where he was precisely. It was very easy to find. Suggestions

Dress up with comfortable clothes and trekking shoes because the ground is very uneven. The perfect season to see the Gorges is Spring, when there is a mild temperature and the river is in full swell.

Another small recommendation: bring a walking stick with you. This seems strange to report, but the land near the Gorges is full of pastures, and the flocks are protected by big herd dogs, very protective. If they see you, they begin to approach and hail insistently until you quickly change direction. The walking stick will simply serve to protect you in case the dogs should get too close and bite you. In our case we simply waited for the flock to move.

When you arrive here, the first thing you hear is the noisy sound of the waterfalls.

You won't see them right away, but you'll have to walk and go down through bushes and rocks to be able to admire the beauty of the place.

Giuseppe and I were enthusiastic: we spent two hours contemplating that enchanted place. Sit at the bottom of the valley near the banks that line the river. If you are looking for relaxation is the perfect place.
